How did you prep the frame for the Chassis Saver? I have some but I haven't gotten around to applying it yet.

The recovered cargo space will be really nice. The tire is the original spare, and it loses some air. When I get new tires in ~15,000 miles, I'll buy 5 I guess.

One of my tires is losing about 5 psi a week, I'm pretty sure it's the valve stem. If not, 35,000 miles without a puncture is very good for where I drive. These tires have been great.

I'm interested in this too. All I did to apply mine was wire brush the frame and wipe it down. Supposedly that's all you have to do, but I'm still skeptical because mine doesn't look all that good two winters later.

It's pretty simple. Mine wasn't very rusty, it didn't require grinding – just a little wire brushing. The manufacturer instructs you to leave a tiny bit of surface rust on it to help it bond to the fame. Then you need to degrease the frame – Simple Green is ideal – it cleans up with water. You then have to let the frame dry completely. (Overnight is best.) Two thin coats of the paint applied within 8 hours – if you let it set longer than that you'll have to sand it lightly with some 150 before you apply the 2nd coat. That's it!

Exact same thing I thought. Looks like a nice truck.

That lbz would be perfect without the stupid chrome pieces on the lower half of the door!

I'm not a fan of the chrome either but it's extremely clean I take care of it for him he hauls camp trailers around us and Canada. Son works for merchant auto so they keep it running well it's in its way to 1 million miles had 700 something I think now.

Definitely. Just wish mine had more original parts. The motor still ran when it came out, just not very smooth. Haha!

When I replaced the 5.3 in my 02 it still ran, a little sluggish and burned a lot of oil, but you couldn't kill that thing. I bet if I kept it in the truck it still would have outlived all the transmissions [emoji23]

Lol! That sounds like the one out of mine. I'd beat on that motor as hard as I could leaving work every night and it would not blow up. Crazy.

What is with the 800s carpet? Does it stain easily or what? I am still looking and every one I see, especially the SUVs, have horrifically stained carpet, looks like someone was murdered or a Starbucks blew up in there.

I just think no one takes care of them. Mine looks like crap too.

People are slobs. Usually steam cleaning solves the problem.

That sounds like a good idea. Any tips on what to use to do it?
