Chevy recomendation?

just had my 2008 tahoe in for oil change, the dealer is recommending Motor vac, 4x4 service and T-body cleaning.

63,676 miles and running good.

Do I need this? I'd like to know alittle more of what all this entails before I talk to the dealer.

Thanks!

T-body cleaning you can do yourself with a little bit of mechanical knowledge.

What do they do for a "4x4 service"? If it's change the diff fluids and t-case and trans fluid, again you can probably do these yourself.

Both of these items would be good to perform at your mileage, if they have not been done previously.

Motor vac.... many people consider it to be snake oil, a waste of time and money. But a money maker for the dealer.

I don't know if this is the same.

But on one car I owned, the service person recommended that the fuel injectors be cleaned. I fell for it. I think around $75.00. I watched the tech. All he did was take the air cleaner/housing off and then a can of spray carb/injector cleaner and he sprayed it into engine. I wasn't exactly standing next to tech but that is what it looked like. I've never had that service done again.

Since then I add on older cars/trucks - a container of injector cleaner to gasoline. Once a month. Could be a waste of money - but my 1992 Grand Marquis has never had any fuel issues at over 150,000 miles.
