Door sill/rocker protection

I won't let the dog in just yet (1800 miles) and my ten year old daughter is great about it, it's the wife that I worry about. The truck is still a bit high for her even with the back end dropped slightly, but it's got more of a street look to it so I hesitate to put on step bars. Anyone know much about about retractable step bars like the the Amp Research or Bestop models? I'm considering the Amp Research set as the warranty appears to be better. Any ideas let me know!

Uh oh, though I was putting up a link, but apparently I put up a video. Is that a no no? I've been a member for about 3 days, I'd hate to get the boot already.

Video edited out...

Ryan, That's what the bed of the truck is for! Dogs.... HAHA. All kidding aside my dog would rather be in the bed of the truck rather than inside. He has more room.

Just dont drag your feet up on your truck lol and your good  when you climb in.

This is a daily driver. I shouldn't have to get into the damn thing a special way to prevent damage. GM should've put something better than paint there to begin with.

Did the 3M clear film 2 yrs ago and it is standing up well to my 2 kids and my doberman getting in and out.

Nice thing about it is when it gets scuffed you can peel it off and put another one on and it looks good again.

My dog hates the bed. He had the entire "60" side with the seat up and had planty of room to lay down while my son had the "40" side. Since we added a car seat the dog will only get the 40 side wonder how he will like it now? Time for a diet (120 lb lab)

As far as the video Jon what was it of? Dont think its a big deal at all

Ryan, I wasn't sure on the video posting, but if not a big deal I'll let 'er fly just to get some opinions on the product. I've seen weather testing on them, but nothing like eight inches of snow and ice built up under the truck to impead the function of the steps...

Not that the steps have anything to do with the OP,

but the AMP steps are kinda neat, they give your truck that clean look but are functional at the same time.

Totally useless in an area that has snow and they get frozen to the bottom of the truck, than they try to open and you bust a motor or strip gears out of them.

Good in a no snow/slush zone.

2010LTZ4X4, I was thinking the same thing. Had this under this post in regards to the wife beating up the sills trying to climb in the truck. I definitely live in a snow zone, but may consider these with an overide switch for the winter. I better do something, she hammers the sill and thinks my leather seat is a slide at the playground :nonod:
