Yeah, the LS7 adds some nice throttle response and drivability over the stock 87mm. Im gonna add a 2012 split grille soon, love the way it looks over the stock one.

11Silvy,does that LS7 throttle body bolt right up and plug right in? Did you have to change anything to get it to work? How much does one cost?

This is the one that does bolt up. I found them on Ebay. You don't need a tune for it and it takes about a tankfull of gas for you to feel the benefits of it.

and it has come down $5.00 since I bought one...

How much benefit does it seem to give? Sounds like an interesting mod.

Maybe 5-8 rwhp but the drivability is vastly improved, throttle response and less pedal effort.

Wow sounds like a good thing to try. Not to bad of a price either. I'll have to get one in the near future.

Just installed mine yesterday............

Drove it today and the throttle response is wayyyyy better. Truck is much smoother when taking off from a light....

Questions for those who installed the 90mm throttle body: did you replace the gasket between the body and intake manifold, and if so, was it the same gasket used with the stock 87mm? I ordered one of these 90mm puppies yesterday, and can't wait to get it on.

I did not replace the o'ring. You will love it. Takes a few days for everything to get used to each other. First thing I noticed was that th throttle response was alot better.

I dont think it will fit on the 5.3

EDIT** this WILL fit the 5.3, prob going to do this mod. I already have a tune, should i get it re tuned?

5.3s come with a 87mm tb? Might be something for my son to consider.

If this does indeed fit the 5.3, I will order and retune for it.

4.8 as well? I wonder if the increased performance is nothing more than the hole being bigger under all throttle conditions. For example, if you normally start off with quarter throttle, the potential air flow volume will be higher with a larger diameter opening. If you increase the diameter of the throttle body by 3%, air flow will also be increased by 3%.
