I was thinking. We use our ATV alot for just quick rides. Not long enough to get ti fully warmed up everytime. I know synth oil like Moble One is good for duty like that.

But can you put the synth oil in it? Would it even be worth it???

Not a bad Idea Mervz. I use Polaris Synthetic. We use synthetic in all our small motors:generators, air compressor, etc.  Probably be better to use the brand of ATV Synthetic products. Your dealer should have it. Besides, it would be cheap anyhow.

Actually, it's a great idea, just a little more expensive.  Typically, small engines see less maintenance, it's harder to track "miles" on something with no odometer.  Also, they tend to run a little hotter, especially if air cooled, and the air/fuel mixture usually isn't dialed in nearly as well as today's fuel injected engines.  You would be doing the engine a favor by switching, it's just a matter of whether or not you want to justify the extra cost.

I use a synthetic blend oil in my bikes.  (Golden Spectra).  My buddy uses Mobil ! in his...  I tried Mobil 1 years ago in one of my bikes and it made my clutches slip!!!  But the bike was older and had about 40k on it.  I swear by the Synthetic blends because I run my motors hard....

Switching to synthetics would do your motor a big favor, but may cause some problems.  My Dad tried switching to synthetics on one of his older motorcycles, and it leaked like a sive.  Just a thought if the ATV is getting up there in age....
