1500 6.2L OR 2500HD 6.0L (2013)

I had a 2013 1500 NHT with the 6.2 on order. the order was placed 12 weeks ago, nothing was happening.

Saturday bought a 2012 2500HD 6.0. With the 4.10 rears can pull a 13000 Travel trailer, and has a payload of 2912LBS.

I for one like those margins for safety purposes. A heavier truck will be a little more stable in the mountain winds while towing.

Can't say that I blame you for not waiting any longer. It took 8 weeks from the time I placed order until I got my truck and I thought that was a long time. 12 weeks would have put me in something else also.

I thank everyone for their opinions and input on these two trucks. I placed an order for 2013 2500 HD LT this week. Although the 1500 NHT 6.2 would be quick and able truck, I opted for the added stability, durability and payload for future upgrades in towables and the ability to pull longer distances with more ease. In our area 2500’s hold their resale quite well and felt the 2500 would provide everything we need and more.

FWIW: Our dealer returned from the Las Vegas Dealer Show and informed us the 1500’s, 2500’s, Suburban’s, and Tahoe’s are all restyled in 2014 (current plan as of show) and understood the 2500’s would be DI (did not know if 6.0 or 6.2).

I asked a couple dealers if they have had any complaints with the vibration issues noted on the 2011+ HD’s and they both said they have never heard of the issue. I will take note of this during the delivery of the truck.

highly recommend the hd. i have a 2012 ext cab 6.0. love it,tows awesome, plenty of power. and its perfect for me anyway as a daily driver.i have a beater that i usually use for that, but i dont mind driving the hd often. thing rides awesome too. we went with 4 in the cab to ohio from nj and nobody in the back complained about the ride.in fact they commented that they couldnt believe i was going 80 mph. didnt even feel like it. i know the newer trucks are better riding because of the longer leaf springs and such. also,i really dont notice any shake or vibration in the truck.there is a little vibration only on uneven types of roads.but my buddys 2011 f-250 is a heck of alot worse riding on those same roads. i drove that one on the same roads. here in jersey we have those cement areas between the pavement and when you drive over them the vehicles feel weird because of the uneven section. guess im used to it. sorry for the long post. good luck.
