USB will play only .mp3 files

I have hundreds of assorted music files on a USB, but only the ones with the .mp3 extension will play on my 2012 LTZ stock radio.

 

Anyone else run into this issue?

It's normal. My 10 silverado or 12 camaro will not play mp4 files. I have a converter and just convert them befor putting on the memory stick

Any other work arounds? How about buying a cheap iPod and using that instead of a USB drive?

Yea it works fine playing off my iphone or ipod its just when you use a memory stick

I've always used an iPod, it will support it through that regardless of format I'm pretty sure.

Well my radio apparently hates my droid. My son's iPhone works fine though.....guess I need to go apple.
