what do you put the oil in? I haven't changed my own oil in years. Do i have to have jugs for the oil just sitting around?? do you fill the oil containers you just used?? just wondering the easiest way to bring the oil to the store. i'm sure if i use mobil 1 i can go more than 5000 miles. i was going 5000 miles on kmart oil and it ran great. i'll just resetting the meter.

I fill the containers I just used. Return to my town public works garage, they will take it. Do it every 7k miles or so, when DIC says 10-15%.

I use an old 2.5 gallon jug that use to have 2 cycle oil in that I got from a friend. I also have a 6 gallon bucket that still has the lid on it and I pour into that when the 2.5 gallon jug gets full and I can't make it to Auto Zone to dump it. If all else fails you can get a 5 gallon gas jug and use it to keep the used oil in until you can get it to the recycling center.

i have a drain pan with caps i empty it into the empty quarts when i am done, but slowly the pan get fuller so when it gets 1/2 way full i take it all to autozone. But it takes awhile because i dont mess with the truck or car, just my mower and my motorcycles

If GM is willing to warranty my engine for 100,000 miles if I follow the oil life monitor, who am I to argue? The OLM is a complex algorithm that gets its data from all the sensors on the engine. It does not actually test the oil, but that is about the only thing not done by OLM.

And no, GM standard trucks do not come with synthetic. Trucks that have been sent to Calloway or other outfitters may put synthetic in as part of the package they are installing.
