Silencer deletes

On my 350 vortec would it help me to take the vortec silencer box out and plug the hole and take the one out up by the battery?

Cool thanks, but what about the one by the battery is it worth doing something to?

I don't know much about that body style. But from everything I read the big one everyone does is a K&N FIPK and deletes the box on the manifold

Hmmm I know I read about the front one somewhere once but now I can't find where it was but thanks for the info ill post the results I get

well i got it done cost me $9 i had to make my own stopper out of rubber hose and a pvc end ( we have a very limited supply of stuff here) but i replaced to box and capped the hole. also the front silencer i was talking about wasnt a silencer but a air scoop to pick up cold air on mine it had come disconnected so i got the bolts and bolted it back on in place.

 

it seems to have made a difference in acceleration and bottom end also it actually made my motor quieter and idle about a hundred rpm lower so in all i think it was a good mod i like it.

one thing i forgot to mention is that on the pvs end i put in the rubber hose i also siliconed the edge of it to the rubber hose to make sure it was air tight

The other day I bought a scan gauge two I think I'll put the vortec box back on and test my truck with and without it and post on here
