2006 Silverado - Tool Question

Ok guys, I am looking for a straight, specific answer on the tool that I need to acquire. My airbag light came on and then goes away within 6 seconds. I have checked all the available known issues for the truck, to no avail. My research has yielded no specific answer as to which scan tool actually is able to read and clear the code for the SIR system on a GMT800 platform except the Tech 2. Any alternates or recommendations? Thanks

I can't give you the specific tool, but I would be hesitant on clearing the code before finding out the reason it's coming on. Hate to have one blow on the highway at seventy. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for about ten minutes to see if it will reset?

The Actron CP9580 & CP9580A can do ABS. Works on '96 up.

@ Johnathan, thanks for the concern. I have no intention of clearing the light and leaving it be. I have made many subtle electrical changes, updates or additions to the truck and I want to (in my mind) thoroughly test and verify component failure before taking corrective measures, or put another way, I want to clear the code three times and see what comes up each time afterward. It is annoying that these things come up but I am not one of those "If I dont see it, it aint broke" types.
