I have an 06 Silverado 2500HD. The driver side door panel controls starting turning on and off randomly the other day. When the Headlights are on the lights flicker on and off on the controls. The Door Lock wont lock with the key fob or electronicly at all. Only by hand. Heated seats worked but the lights showing them on wont turn on every time. Power mirrors stopped working. What can i do? What do i check? ANy help on this is appreciated! thanks

My first guess is pull the door panel and check all plugs going into the window switch since that is the common point for everything

Does that switch control the power locks and mirrors and the lights?

Not your headlights but your mirror is plugged into it. The driver's side is the adjustment side and the mirror adjustment, locks, and windows are all built into one switch

I would check to make sure everything is seated properly and possibly reseat them. As far as testing, I'm not sure on that one. I have never had to do it. But the switch may be on its way out. My headlight switch is doing something similar and I have to hit it a few times to get it to work

Ya it was flickering on the bumps. Hopefully its just a loose plug

I had that problem with my 99, not good news for it 3 years ago when it happened. The dealer said fastest way to fix was to replace the wiring harness for the door, only problem was that part for my truck was obsolete!! Tried wrecking yards and they told me that GM used two different ones and when I looked at mine they did not have one like it, so I just lived with it. :jester:

Change the switch panel you mean? Or the whole harness that goes into the cab and all?

Check the wiring running through the rubber hose between the cab to the door....that's where I'd put my money. I just noticed you've got another post about your cruise control not working....all of this didn't start at the same time did it?

I pulled the panel and tested the plugs going to the switch for power and it is getting power to it. So im assuming its the switch?

I wouldn't be changing switches just yet. I'm not familiar w/ your truck switches, do all the problems you reported initially run through only one switch? Do they occur with the truck parked, moving or both? Did you try moving the rubber boot between the door & cab to see if your readings fluctuated? Did you check the ground circuit as well for continuity?

Yes it is one whole box that runs all the switches in that door. It has completely stopped working since i made this post so no power locks, windows, mirrors, heated seats and dome light wont turn on when door is opened. Yes i messed witht he rubber boot. Nothing happened. I hooked up a test light to the plugs ground wire that goes into the switch and tested for power and there was power at the plug.
