Wheel Covers

For a 2008 Silverado with 17 inch rims.

What is GM's stock number for these (attached photo) wheel covers/skins?

If not called wheel covers and/or skins, what does GM call them?

In Canada, what would the price per unit be from a GM dealership?

Also, have they become scarce?

The sales person at the Brantford dealership informed me via email that, "At this time I do not have any wheel covers available for the steel wheels."

She made no mention as to being able to order them and my next email sent asking when they would become available, wasn't answered.

Once i have the stock number and correct name(s), I'll be contacting nearby dealers for availability.

There is no "full" wheel cover available for those wheels from GM (only the center cap) any full wheel cover you see is an aftermarket "non-GM" item.

Doesn't sound like you know what you are looking at. The pic you posted show the steel wheel with factory hub cap/center cap. The only "wheel covers" you will find will be on the shelf at Wal-Mart or Autozone type stores.

I don't have a part number but one time the dealer striped one and it flew off on the highway. Anyways they wanted about 125$ for one at the time if I remember correctly, I know it was expensive. Luckily we have lots of gmcs at work so I just "borrowed" one. They get broken at work anyways.

GM did make chrome covers for those wheels.. it was only an option on the GMT800's though. probably would be hard to find GM ones though.

google silverado wheel covers

here a hubcap for those rims

https://www.google.c...-64.htm;360;360

Nope, nothing was ever available from GM,only aftermarket.

Or let me clarify.....the "chrome-cladded" wheels from GM did have a bright stainless cover on them,it however was not available separately, you had to buy the complete wheel to get it (IE-It was part of the wheel itself)

OK.

So they're still called hub caps.

What is the GM stock number for the hub cap?

Also what is the GM stock number for the centre cap?

GM part number for the painted Silver center cap is 9598131

and for the chrome center cap is 9598135

I previously used Google and they were called wheel covers/skins.

I bought the 2008 Silverado brand new in the fall of 2007.

These were on the truck.

I found this information on the Service Parts Identification tag in the glove box, PY9, P03

On the build sheet that a member supplied, it shows P03 - Chromed Wheel Centre Caps.

On the build sheet that came with the truck it says, Chrome Appearance Wheels.

On the sheet prepared by the salesman, Wheels - (4) 17" Chrome Appearance Wheels -inc: chrome centre caps

This was for the 2008 Silverado.

By the build sheet, and RPO codes, you should have the chrome wheels.
