Information Only Door Handle

I just talked to my friend who ownes a 2008 sierra/silverado.

He is a car guy who ownes an autowrecker. He Just Bought a new door handle that only comes from the dealer for 800.00 . Thats right eight hundred.

You have to buy the whole inside door panel with the handle.

 

He just told me that they brake very easily and that I should scour the used trucks to take the panels and stock up on them cause this is a big money grab.

Imagine the little plastic handle when it brakes what to expect.

The door handle should not break in less you pull it off really hard.

Never heard such a thing and on top of them breaking also. Sounds like your friend got really reamed. Outside door handle is about 30 bucks as so for the inside. I bet them guys at the parts counter are still laughing.

It is the inside door handle, my friend is saying you cannot buy the inside one without the hole panel.

 

He probably got screwed, I watched a video and saw the handle come off, a seperate piece . lol

Yup there ya go a seperate piece that you can buy for about 30 bucks.

Just had the door handles replaced on my 2002 GMC and they were about $120 each including labor. This was done by our local GM dealer too.

For the GMT-900s, I had to have the drivers and passengers door handles replaced under warranty for my 07 Sierra because the cheap chrome flakes off of the handle after awhile. Same thing happend to the passenger side handle on my 08 but am out of warranty I sure hope I don't have to buy a whole new panel just to replace that inside handle
