Newbie 09 Sierra w/ question

New to the group, I've had my 09 Sierra for about a year now and loving every minute. I've been having some horrible rattling coming from my knee bolster panel for a while...may not be as horrible to others but, my ears hear every little thing my vehicles do. It is noticable in town over small bumps in the road, goes away with the lightest touch of my hand under steering column. Any thoughts? I thought I'd take it off and try to remedy it myself before making a trip to the dealership. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
