6.2 throttle response

Mine can just about break the 35"s loose under throttle. Blackbear tuned. Other than that, she's stock.

I stomped mine leaving work Friday night, and once it kicked back down to first it spun the tires with the traction control on. It's not the first time it's done that either, and she's all stock besides the intake. I can't imagine what the new 6.2L is going to be like.

Well Jim I finally found that thread regarding the LS7 throttle body swap that 6.2 owners have been doing. No wonder you couldn't find it. It was under a Callaway thread in The Lounge/Automotive Industry News section. I just started going through my past content and finally found it. As stated, it is available on several sites. I went through ebay and my delivery was lightning fast. I contacted the seller(Fred's post) and they were very nice/knowledgeable in answering my questions. I see a new seller for 5 bucks less on Ebay, but the link Fred provided has sold several and again the customer service was exceptional. I can't speak for the others who have made the conversion, but I found the small price well worth it. The new piece seems to respond quicker to your foot. As for your tune, the consensus here is Black Bear Performance.

Keep us posted, One of the coolest things about this forum is seeing the evolution of people's trucks. From Sarah's stock GMC to a jacked up custom paint ear thumpin' dune runner to Sic LSX's wheel tire and step bar upgrades that completely changed his truck. I blew my financial and mod wad right up front, but have some little changes planned for this spring...

Wow Jon, my swap wasn't mentioned. I'm keeping an eye on this. If I find the right intake manifold I will be doing an LS3 or LS7 90 mm throttle body.

Oh yeah, Jim, there's also this guy named Chris in Cali that took a 4.8 out of his GMC and put in a 6.0 liter thumper. He's also done wheels and tires, stereo, front end level(he should have gone down in the rear instead, his truck/wheel tire combo have a street truck feel to me :) ) exhaust, custom tune, custom front marker lights, custom badging and a whole host of other mods that I'm about to be made aware of. I have to be nice to Chris, his truck may be faster than mine in the near future...

In the far future Jon. Nah I'm asking on the other site about changing manifold and TB. By the way with the corsa sport, is your truck quiet at idle and cruising?

Thanks for taking the time to dig up that link, it was very helpful. It addresses the exact issue I'm referring to and I'm going to get one ordered right away. Not 100% clear on the stock tube fitment or whether I need to get an aftermarket but I'll find out when the TB arrives and go from there. Thanks again, you guys are awesome!

The stock tube should fit. Quite a few people on here have done that upgrade

If it doesn't you can always pick up the Airaid tube for a decent price since the factory air box flows pretty damn well

Well I just ordered the TB. I'll be sure to post up my results when it's installed. Greatly appreciate all the help and replies!

You are welcome. Now run along and enjoy the site. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And to compliment that throttle body, a custom tune would be awesome

Jim, you should be okay with the stock tube. You can probably heat up the rubber fitting a bit and stretch it those extra 3mm. Otherwise an Airaid tube and the stock filter box will work well. Callaway and MagnaCharger both use the stock box and a performance filter.

Chris, my Corsa is indeed quiet at idle and when cruising. I wouldn't mind a little more sound, but it's a nice system and sounds great when combined with full throttle and a whine from under the hood.

I dont have the whine. It sounds good when wide open, but I would love a little more sound when cruising. It's so quiet

I feel the same way. Good news is you're less likely to raise the eyebrow of your local law enforcement entities with a mild at cruise exhaust. Even better the guy next to you won't see(hear) you coming.
