disabling auto door locks on '13 Sierra 1500

Trying to figure out how to permanently disable the automatic door locking feature (when you put it into gear OR at 15 mph, whichever option is chosen )

 

Any insight on how to get this done?

 

If the factory radio was replaced with an Aftermarket unit ( such as an Alpine ive w530 ) and then also a PAC pack module (pac-audio.com ) such as the C2R-GM29 for $120... Can it give me different control options regarding auto door locks, seat belt chime and so on ?

 

Otherwise, is there any sort of device, or anything, that i can have installed that will allow shutting off door locks, etc ?

 

Alternatively, what if a PAC (or whatever brand ) pack module is never installed. Will i lose anything essential ? If there's a Thread on this already, please LINK, 'cause i can't find it.

The DIC would allow you to do the locks. The radio doesn't control them

Seems like I read a thread sometime ago where it had to be changed at the dealer. The guy bought the truck and absolutely hated the auto locks plus he was afraid the motors would wear out so he took it to a dealer and got them to disable that feature with a tech2. Sorry I couldn't remember anything more.

I remember that now. In 2010 or 2011 they did away with the option to Change it in the dic

It was actually a couple years before that...

 

But yes a dealer flash is required. I had mine done.

Not true. I have a 2012 and I disabled mine within the DIC controls.

I have a 2011 and I have no option to turn them off.

I got it done today at my local dealership. Highly Worth It !

 

Here's a little exerpt from what's on the paper i left with....

CUSTOMER REQUEST AUTO DOOR LOCKS BE SHUT OFF, RIGHT NOW

DOOR LOCKS, WILL LOCK WHILE DRIVING PASS 8 MPH

PER SERVICE BULLITEN PIT3189Q, UPDATED SOFTWARE AVAIBLE TO

DISABLE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKING.

REPROGRAM BODY CONTROL MODULE TO DISABLE AUTOMATIC DOOR

LOCKING.
