engine swap question

I have a 2000 2500 suburban (rollover-totaled) with a 6.0 engine.

I'm wondering if I can swap my motor into a 2004 2500suburban that has a 8100 big block in it.

 

The Vin #s are

it's what I have available to me at this time. money is a consideration

It will for. Some modifications will have to be made. One is cable throttle and one is electronic, and then there is the big block vs small block modifications

I bet you can sell that 8.1 in a heart beat! From what members here say, those motors are beasts!

I don't know. I haven't bought it yet. From what I'm told it's an 04' with over 300k on it. I can buy it for 1k. everything is in good shape. Just don't know what's wrong with the motor.

what about the trans? a trans with 300k has to be near the end of its life...

 

also didnt the 04 2500 burb with 8.1 have allsion?

I been told it should have Allison in it. I saw the vehicle last night. Looks to be in pretty good shape. KBB sys it's worth 6700 to 7300. Sounds like a steal to me.

truck did start and we didn't hear any knocking or anything. It idled for maybe 5 min.
