Can folding mirrors get broken?

I have an 09 Chey 1500 Ext. Cab with the electric folding mirrors. Sometimes I fold the mirrors in while in the driveway at home.

I noticed sometimes when I take the truck to the carwash, the mirrors are folded.

I don't know if they know it has electric folding mirrors or not.

Will the mirrors fold manually or will something inside break if they are folded manually?

This morning, I went to un-fold the mirrors to leave for work, and the passenger side mirror took 3 - 4 times of pushing the button to finally get that one to move to unfold. The drivers side worked each time.

Any ideas?

I would say yes, they can break if folded manually. I dont have them on my current truck but my last one had them. i folded them manually once and when i went to open them back up i heard a clicking sound like they were off track. It took a few tries for them to open up. Next time you go to get er cleaned up, just fold em before they have a chance to do it for you.

They won't break. The loose/sloppy movement is a built in safety breakaway. If you cycle the power mirrors after they're supposed to reset.

Can they get broken? Yeah I suppose if your a roid raging idiot when manually folding them in it could happen, but no they are built to be able to manually fold them in and aside from the over aggressive ass that would break a manual one no they will not break.

I don't like to power unfold after they have been manually folded. Makes a heck of a racket.

Can they be broken? Yes, they can, by mindless, careless idiots who ignorantly waddle into them in garages and parking lots, then practice denial and deflection in the highest degree when called on their moronic actions. Even then, it's still illegal to beat the hell out of the senseless, failed biological experiment.
