Bullcrap OEM Tires

I had a set on my 2006 2500HD Goodyear Wrangler SlientArmors(stock size) and they were fine for about 35,000 miles then I got a huge bulge on the inner side wall of one of the rear tires when I was in Ohio for a Horse Fair. The factory Bridgestone tires had 63,700 miles when I replaced them they were at 5/32's I put got new tires due to me pulling a gooesneck horse trailer for 3,800 mile round trip and with the horses I wanted fresh tires.

My 2011 Has factory General Grabber HTS and I'm pleased with those, I have 59,400 miles and I'm still at 7/32's, traction is good for my drive. I have no issues in the snow or gravel roads I've driven miles and miles down. It's funny how many dirt/gravel roads are still in this country. My next set will be Michelin's, Coopers, or stock Generals.

My 2001 Silverado 2500HD with the big 8.1L V8 I put Cooper Discoverer S/T and I loved the traction but fuel economy went down about 1mpg and tread life seem good. I did trade the truck about 15,000 miles later so I never got long term durability on those.

Had a 2008 1500 that came with the ST tire. Junk! Called/emailed GM to bitch about them. My wife's Suzuki SX4 went right thru 4 inches of snow and up the hill to our house, my new GMC 4X4 couldn't do it with those tires! I still hear about that from her! lol

Oh that's a tough pill to swallow. Major frustration. Seriously, that would really piss me off.

Yeah it pissed me off and hurt my feelings! lol! You know how it feels to have your truck insulted! Sold them and put Duratracs on it. After she saw how much $ they cost she was pissed!

I hear ya, my 08 Sierra came with goodyears and I was lucky to squeeze 25k miles out of them. Don't do much off roading but the little dirt, mud, snow they seen they did ok. My 2012 came with bridgestones and they are holding up well with 28,xxx miles on them. I need to get 40k out of them and baised on the tread thats left I don't think that will be a problem. Car builders are just like home builders, they use the cheapest stuff they can find...

Both of my trucks have the LS2 Good Years on them and yeah they are not the greatest tires. Even with rotating them religiously I will probably only get 55000 KMS out of them! When the Michelin tires on my work truck will make 90000, maybe even 100,000 kms no sweat!
