Need Sub install help

Well, I did some adjusting on the HU and figured out that the "Loud" function only increased the highs and mids, not the lows, so I turned it off and now the subs compliment the rest of the system more. Before, the mids and highs would become too loud before the subs would get any volume.

Im not sure how much tuning I can do since the amp only has 2 adjustments, "gain" and "bass boost". The gain is an adjustment knob, but the boost is only a toggle switch. I will pick up some fill material next time Im in town. Would it be better to get the kind that comes in sheets, or the loose kind?

The loose kind.

Remember bass boost and things of the sort only "crank up the volume" at certain frequencies, often at the sacrifice of distortion. The gain is not a volume contol but a means to match the input voltage so that it is the same as other amplifers in the system.

Bass boost also works to level frequencies so that the dynamics of the car environment can be tweaked. But like everything else should be used sparingly.

The general rule of thumb for polyfil is about a pound per square foot. If I recall correctly. I always "tried to not use the stuff" but it does help with standing free waves in the enlosure.
