Bad News, tranny or rearend went down.

So guys my plan is to get the Yukon 4.56 gears, Tru-Trac with Yukon or Detroit? I need new axles so what kind should I get??
Just gonna keep my 10 bolt for yall suggestions. I don't tow or go off-roading in my truck. So I think that will be fine,but I do need to do the front bc where I live in the Winters, I DO need my 4x4.

My G80 (the first and original one) didn't go out until 300k... but that's when I got my hands on the truck from my dad haha

You know what guys....My truck did come with the G80, but never actually worked when I bought my truck used at 102K.

Thats why I didn't think it had one in it, but the glove-box didn't have the RPO codes for it, Think it was an added option, but I do or did have it.

 

 

So, I called a local driveline & gear shop. Talked to this mechanic

that had 27 years of experience with rearends, transmissions, and etc.

He told me could do my truck with everything included little over

$2,500.

 

 

I told him I wanted Yukon gears, he said he doesn't like em. But he said

he'll install em If I get the parts. But, he suggested towards me to go

with American Axle & Auburn locker. Had a 6 month warranty with

unlimited mileage. So what do you think about that? That does include with 4.56's.

Alot of Yukon gears you can add a lifetime warranty for $30. I heard mixed reviews on Yukon gears but that's what I'm gonna get.

 

Get a Detroit locker!!!

Im probably gonna get Yukon gears, cant afford the Detroit Locker. Its like $200 more.
