SkiDooNick700 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I just got hand calculated 21.3 MPG in my truck 388 mile round trip. About 40 miles of 60mph and the rest was mostly 75mph with some 80mph on the highway and also some minor stop and go rush hour traffic in the mix. I am very happy with that number. I run 93. A/C on too. The DIC read 21.3MPG as well. This was the first time in the probably 10 or 11 fill ups that my hand calculation matched the DIC. Usually DIC reads .5mpg to 1mpg higher.
robvas Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) first real highway trip 2015 Crew Cab SLT 6.2, 3.42, 4x4, 2" leveling kit, 33" BFG KO2's, no front airdam, AFM disabled Got up to 22.6 the next day somehow! Edited July 21, 2015 by robvas 1
Rme2513 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I'm not knocking anyone on here but I have stock tires and the best I have seen on the DIC is 22.9 and that was all highway at 62 mph for 180 miles so to say you have oversize tires that weigh 55 lbs or more ( all LT tires do ) and I have stock ones that weigh 35 lbs and your still getting the same mileage and my DIC is always one mpg to the good ( high ) and the best I have ever done hand caluclated was 19.6 witch I am very happy with. But if there's a secret to getting 22 with big heavy tires please let me know I'll even pay you for it if it works 1
nhdude Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 let's see the last 400 Not shabby as far as I'm concerned 1
Rme2513 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 So for this tank but it's only going to go down the more miles I get on it usual get about 19.5 but the DIC will say 20.5 mine is a CC standard box 6.2 4x4

I was knocking down just as good of mileage at 73 or 77 than I do at 68 or 70. I have a tonneau cover as well. Getting about the same mileage on the highway as my 5.3. Actually I am getting a better all-around average in the 6.2, perhaps the 8 speed has something to do with it. I saw 13.9mpg a lot in town with my old truck. Both trucks were 3.42 and both on oversized BFG KO2's, with the speedometer corrected for tire height. My 2014 Silverado double cab z71 4x4 with the same level and tires and tonneau Edited July 22, 2015 by robvas
