Hypertech ECON question on new truck

Anyone tried a new hypertech econ on their new 2500? I see lots of posts from years ago or about older trucks. I am considering purchasing one for my 2013 but was wondering if anyone tried one on a 2012 or 2013 6.0l gas engine.

thanks

For the price and minimql gas savings just get a custom tune and drove with a light foot

I had a custom tune on my last truck and had 2 computers forgot to swap units out and had some issues with the dealership questioning me on warranty transmission repairs. Was hoping to find a unit that I can flash and remove programming before taking the truck in for service. I don't really care about the performance increase, just looking to get 1-2 mpg increase. That is a 10%-20% increase in mileage for me. At that rate it would pay for itself back in less than a year. Also looking at a diablosport intune programmer, just curious if anyone that owned one of these had any results.

Thanks

I use the Autocal made by EFIlive and tuning done by blackbear, I can go back to stock if necessary

That appears to be a viable option, anyone get a custom Black Bear tune for fuel economy? I am not as concerned about performance increases(although that would be nice).

^^^^2wd half ton truck tho.

I'd be surprised to see 16-17 with a 2500hd 6.0.

My old truck 1500hd with a good tune on 33's the mileage was terrible. But I didn't complain...it's a truck

I stated the facts. Rest of the trucks info is in the sig and build thread

I recently purchased a hypertech econ for my 2008 sierra with a 6.0, I am very pleased with the power gain and I picked up 1mpg city driving and 2 on the highway the truck does not have to downshift as much to maintain highway speeds and it also has way more power below 2000 rpms so you can stay off the throttle a bit. Hope this helps
