How can a man who attempted to kill 5 police officers be sentenced to 6 yrs (3 good behavior) get out in 4.5?

That's america, we don't exactly have the best legal system.  Have you seen what some of the minimum level prisons are like.  They look like a grade school and it's like living at a country club

Notice he wasn’t able to actually kill anyone.  Maybe they considered him so pathetic and inept, that he wasn’t that dangerous.  This is the kind of guy that gives criminals a bad name!

They probably would have, but nowadays there is too much politics in everything.  You know how news stations are, it would have been a big deal and they would have gotten bad PR.  But, now it's the prison system that will get it.  It's a messed up world we live in.  Just look at the Rodney King case, cops beat him up and he sued them, but he's gotten in trouble a bunch of times since then.  They made him out to be such a good guy and now he's got a bunch more drug charges on him.  And OJ too, he was aquited and now he's getting in trouble for road rage.  You would think that getting a 2nd chance would be enough, but some people just can't stay out of trouble.
