Is that because the air bags going off would "indicate" more damage or because airbags are expensive to replace?

Oh and now I see the lower picture with the wood around the radio, it did not load the first time I saw this thread. Looks like something from a kitchen than in a truck, but different tastes for different folks... Looks like a good project!

Both are correct, the Airbags going off usually cause damage to the Steering Column, the Dash Panel, the Seats, and the Headliner. and the Driver's Airbag for your Typical F-150 is about $600+.

EDIT: to Replace BOTH Front Seat Belt Pretensioners, BOTH Side Impact Airbags, and BOTH Front Airbags in My Little Aveo, its OVER $3500, and that's BEFORE ANY Actual Body or Structural Repair! and my Car is only WORTH $7500! so pretty much my Aveo would be on the First Tow Truck to the Scrapyard!

It will take a couple thousand to get it in running order. It will be set up the way we want for around 5-7. Even at $5000 to get it right, buying a truck with similar options here at the dealer used with 16k on it would be over $30,000, with a clear title of course. So at $15000 to have a decent truck. Pretty good deal.

Thats our view on it. It also gives me a project to do when im not doing my school work

That radio will be going and being Replaced with an Advent unit similar to the OGM-1 but the F-150 model. I think it gets rid of the wood. My uncle works in the oil fields in Utah. That's where the truck will spend most of it's time.

We are also looking into A level, some blocks, 20" Novakanes, and 33's

If you get BMF's don't buy machined ones, the aluminum isn't sealed properly and it oxidizes really quick. They have a horrible finishing/sealing process and it shows. Ask me how I know? Just please take my advice don't buy the machined, just get death metal's. BMF is TERRIBLE to deal with ill add as well.

Ok, I thought the Death Metal was black with machined accents

I have had good luck finding oem Ford parts on eBay so far. My tail lights came from a dealership in Missouri that is selling below msrp.

Were they the black FX4/FX2/Raptor tail lights?

LKQ is also a good place to find cheap remanufactured or Recycled parts, and LKQ is Right there on South Union Ave.

Gotcha and thank you for the information, guess I did not think it through what all happened when an air bag deployed.

Looks like a good project. The work part will not be too rough (not covered in mud or sh**) and the reward from the stress relief from getting away from the school work for a bit is always a good thing, IMO.
