I will start off by saying this isn't my truck. It is my uncles. I could not talk him into a GM. We ahre selling his Dodge 2500 now. He is in Utah working and I will be getting ahlod of the truck because a lot of work needs to be done. It cost $9900 for a 2011 F-150 with 16,500 miles. It is Lariat trim, 4 wheel drive, and has the 5.0. I am curious if anyone knows parts places like gmpartsdirect for Fords. Also I would like some diagrams. It is a salvage title and needs some work.

not a bad deal.. i know alot of guys who buy totalled trucks with sal. titles and fix them up like new and sell. not bad way to get a truck if you have the time and resources to repair properly.

that is a nice looking truck, but that wood around the radio is absolutely horrifying.

That radio will be going and being Replaced with an Advent unit similar to the OGM-1 but the F-150 model. I think it gets rid of the wood. My uncle works in the oil fields in Utah. That's where the truck will spend most of it's time.

We are also looking into A level, some blocks, 20" Novakanes, and 33's

That is wood around the radio? I thought it was water damage....

I don't care for it, but then again it isn't my truck. I just will be doing some of the repairs

He works the oil fields and wants 20s? Seems like a bad mix. If the Chevy 17s weren't so ugly I'd of gotten those instead of my 18s.

He drives a all stock Expedition Limited 4x4 out there right now. He just drives to the rigs and does directional drilling. Mostly electronic. His Expedition has 20's right now

Exactly...With that short of a sidewall he may run into problems.

I have yet to see the truck in person yet. I don't know if it has 18's or 20's factory. I know that one wheel has to be replaced. The 20's are just something discussed. My 2wd made it through those oil fields fine. They aren't anything too horrible.

that F-150 doesn't look too badly damaged, just as long as there isn't any Structural damage being hidden by the damaged body panels, but he's quite lucky the Airbags didn't go off, or that truck would have been a COMPLETE Writeoff. oh and Ford has an Official Online Parts Catalog (much like Nissan's eStore) where you can enter the VIN to get the EXACT Parts that are needed. (but being an OFFICAL Ford Site, the Prices shown will be the same as if you waltzed into either Jim Burke FLM Parts Departments [yes, I said Parts DEPARTMENTS, because Jim Burke FLM has TWO Locations; One on Oak St, and the Other in the Bakersfield Automall on Gasoline Alley.]) here's the Site in Question: http://www.fordparts.com/Default.aspx

Is that because the air bags going off would "indicate" more damage or because airbags are expensive to replace?

Oh and now I see the lower picture with the wood around the radio, it did not load the first time I saw this thread. Looks like something from a kitchen than in a truck, but different tastes for different folks... Looks like a good project!

Driver air bag did deploy.

not with the right tire, i know a few who work for the natural gas companies near me and run 20's with really good tires and there are no issues in heavy offroad situations... if you go offroad with 20's and street tires then you have issues

Either direction we take it, it will have a decent all terrain tire. Hopefully they get it on a truck for me Monday and I get ahold of it by Wednesday. I started getting a list of basic parts like the grille and headlights, needs new tail lights. Might go LED. It has a cowl hood by the look of the pics. I am hoping that it isn't damaged.
