2000 chevy fuel pump

My old pump had 2 connectors. My new one has 1. Can I pop the evap plug off and put it on the new one. Has anyone tried this.

I just finished putting it in. I took the evap plug out of my old pump and drilled a hole in the top of the new one and snapped the plug back in. Its a hinting truck and not an everyday driver so I figured I would try it. So far so good.

I got my pump in from Rock Auto, now to line up some friend to help take the bed off and get it installed.
