I know you said you would prefer a V-8 but how about a 2010+ Camaro with the V-6. They get very good milage and are pretty quick. You can also get one with a manual.

I wish I could afford a GTR.. And about the V6 Camaro, I've thought about it, but I would just feel like less of a man knowing I'm driving around a V6 Camaro. :/ I have too much of a "if you're gonna buy it get the best" there's nothing wrong with the v6 Camaro but I just couldn't see myself driving it.

Just whoop up on 4th gen camaro z28 and mustang GTs to get over it.

if your looking for a fuel saving car you would be much better off getting an actually fuel efficient car rather then a fullsize v8 car or a v6 350z which dont get good gas mileage...

you could get a diesel cruze, corolla, civic, jetta..... if they are not cool or fun enough then there are more sporty options such as a v6 accord(decent MPG but fast), subaru impreza-wrx's, or a scion TC or scion frs/ subaru brz.

my next car will be a brz or frs

One of my friends had a Jetta 1.8L with the Wolfsburg package, all Jettas are fun but it was a blast. Easy to spool. That car pulled down 40 mpg often.

or go the route I did and get a 2007-2011 Aveo (or a 2012-current Sonic) you can't beat the 35 MPG Highway it gets (sure the Aveo has less than 110 HP, but a Manual in the Aveo or Sonic is STANDARD.) we could always use more members at the Aveo Forums!

Think only the '04 GTO had the 5.7 & the 05-06 got the 6.0? Better braking too.

As far as the older Camaro option. Had a 2001 Trans Am with the 5.7 6 speed SLP Headers etc & on a trip from IL - AZ it averaged 26.8. That was out & back with 4 or 5 days driving in Phoenix traffic. Yet something else I never should have traded.

If you think you'll need room in the future, or want more practical, or even just for kicks, stop by a Mazda dealership and drive a 2nd Gen Mazda V6 with the 18" wheels(They had the best tires from the factory, Michelin Pilot ZR rated)

Run it HARD. Corners too. You'll be surprised. The third gen is supposed to handle better, but it doesn't have anywhere near the power. They won every handling test/most fun factor in the segment for a reason.

When I had just gotten my job at 18 I told the salesman I'd buy a GTO with 6000 miles....as long as the insurance wasn't crazy......

The monthly payment was 400.....the monthly insurance was going to be more than that. So yeah....didnt get it. I only had one minor wreck on my insurance at the time also.

Sorry guys was busy with school so I haven't been looking at here lately. I'm aware that I could get a 4 cylinder accord or something like that and get ridiculous gas mileage, but I am looking for something sporty also. I liked the idea of the Mazda and the impreza's because I know something about them. I'll have to look into the VW's though. I have no idea where to start with those. Thanks for all the input.

One of my friends (different one) just bought a hail damaged 2004 Jetta, GLS package I think. The thing is LOADED. Heated leather, sunroof (slides or vents), 1.8 Turbo, Monsoon sound with wheel controls (awesome stereo for an economy car). It's auto, but still has some go. Rides on 16" alloys. The paint is a sweet gray metallic fleck. It's actually fun to drive, with the windows down you can easily hear the turbo. I advised he have a shop check out a few things and do some maintenance. They changed ALL fluids and checked out the timing belt and tensioner (problem area, most people neglect it). The tensioner was about to go, so it's a good thing they changed it.

PS: Congrats on the ND win, awesome showing of tailgaters too.
