Leveling kit questions. Plz help. I cant get any answers

First off I've looked through many threads already and can't find what I'm looking for. I saw there was a leveling kit that said I could clear 285s. Can you guys please help me out. I have a 2000 chevy Silverado 1500 4wd 5.3 z71 its stock and I'm already running 285/75/16. I have to redo the ball joints, and tie rods So was thinking about trying to fit taller tires under it with a leveling kit. Also what would clear with rims was thinking 8x16. All the leveling kits I found says max tires are 285s. Well I'm running those now without any lift. I measured the blocks in the back there two inch. The kit I'm looking at is a rough country leveling kit. 1.5-2 inches of lift in front with 3 inch blocks in rear plus shocks. Kits $190.00 Should I not even bother with the lift if I cant go taller? Thanks for your input.

I cleared 285/75R16's when I had my level kit with minor lower valence trimming, BUT I was also running an offset of -22mm, which is ALOT... You could probably get like 295/85's (if that's even a size) on the stock backspace/ offset

Have you adjusted your torsion bars? Never had a level kit on my 2000 just tightened the torsion bar bolts to fit 285's

I've never adjusted my torsion bars at all. I guess my truck just sits higher then most. I guess ill go with the leving kit and see what happens. I just haven't found anyone that fit 285s without making any adjustments. Now the queation is what's a good rim width to go with or should I run my stockers.

I ran 285's and 255's on my 2000 with just cranking the torsion bars ever rubbed at all Ryan

Don't waste the money on new wheels. I did and regretted it because I got new ones when I put my lift on and now I'm looking at another new set. Darn upgrades are addicting and expensive

I ran a 305 70r16 on stock wheels with a 2.5" level at one time. It fit but barely

Zach, ur tires wide enough to stick out past the side of the truck. I want a wider stance.

No trimming and they sat just flush. What I have now in my sig pic sticks out about an inch but rubs all over the back of the fender in reverse at times. I trimmed plastic at the back and had to hammer the metal back for these.

2.5" level, 3" blocks, 1.5" body lift, 18x9 -12 offset wheels and 285 60r18 nittos
