Tires?

I've had a couple sets of Toyo ATs. Gave good wear, over 50k. I ran 285/70-17 LR E, on my 08. Worked well .

I'm considering what to do about the new truck tires. Probably run the stockers on the street until hunting season. I just cringe about going off road even just on unimproved dirt roads. Rocks and brush roots seem to have their way with any tire less than a LR E (10 ply rating).

Well, swapped tires today...installed the ATPs. They are a lot more aggressive than the Duravis. Now this is the awesome part, my frame beaming is completely gone.

I also had it aligned today...the only thing he found was it was a little low on the passenger side and it had a slightly excessive toe in.

I just put 285/60/18 General AT2 Load Range E tires... on my stock Z71 wheels. they surely won't last 94,000 miles like OEM bridgestone dueler a/t but this tire sure seems like it'll be better in the snow and off road.

Yeah I did and they still had probably another 5,000 before they weren't legal but I didn't want to wait until late fall/early winter and pay premium prices... so i got the last 5,000 miles out of them in 300 feet LOL.

I would guess i could have gotten 75k out of the Duravis, but not in this climate. They were worn down to basically four solid bands and no grip.

Dang. Either I have a lead foot. Or you guys drive like grandma. Or my tires are soft. I have the stock 18" Michelin ltx at2 on my 3500, 22000 miles and they are half way gone! I'm hoping I can make it into winter being I can't afford new rubber yet since these tires look like 4 bands also lol

The Duravis got really hard, and really slippery, once they got the first 25% worn off...I had several sets of BFG Rugged Trails that I got trading things (on the last truck)...those were the same way, first 25% was decent the last 75% was horrible...but I was able to pull nearly 100k out of just one set of those, and that was with a 6spd and diesel.

Wow. I've never heard of the stockers lasting nearly that long. Most are gone before 50k. Good for you. You deserve to do a burnout as a reward, haha.

The Bridgestones were ok for the first 25% and the last 25% but the middle 50 was borderline dangerous.
