4x4 indicator light?

Been looking around the net for pics of the 2014 GM truck 4x4 mode/selector indicator but not finding much. Is it better than the 900's where all you have is a tiny speck of a light on the selector knob which is also hidden by the steering wheel? I could just go test drive one, but I'm a bit lazy...

its on the left and about half the size. IMO a better spot as the gear shifter doesnt block it. The light seems fine to me, but i beleive the dash also tells you what it is doing.

I noticed that the knob is farther to the left now which is better, but I do hope they put something in the instrument cluster this time as well. One of the best mods I did to my '08 was add the aftermarket 4x4 indicator in the center cluster. Saved me from running with 4wd locked in for hundreds of miles.

I checked on mine today, nothing in the instrument cluster indicating 4wd was engaged. A message does pop up saying 4wd shift in progress though, but it goes away after a few seconds

It really annoys me that with all the displays in the new trucks GM couldn't add a simple 4WD indicator.

Im guessing 99% of owners could care less since 1% don't ever use the 4x4 but ever blue moon. When you do ... you can feel it in the wheel.. I know I can.

Same here. Had to engage 4wd in the car wash of all places! It's just about freezing out right now and this must have caused a little bit of ice at the entrance of the wash. Front tires hit the little ramp that you have to drive up on. With a little throttle, the back end started shifting sideways. Engage 4HI and problem solved!
