Reflection in Rear View Mirror

Yeah I noticed this on day one. Crew cabs don't do it because of how much further back the rear window is from the glass, but someone of average height in a double cab will see it. Dimming doesn't help since your eyse just adjust. I've gotten over it and look past it now. Very annoying though. You'd think they could find a simple fix for this in the design stage, especially if it's happened in previous models.

To be honest. I have never noticed it till you posted this. I saw it on the way home last night. Not that bad to me if I have not seen it till now.

I would try putting one of those anti-glare screen covers for laptops in the middle of the rear window to see if that stopped the reflection from occurring.

A lot of vehicles have this issue. Been around for a long time.

I own a 2014 Silverado LTZ Z71 double cab. My single big complaint is the reflection from my Radio and HVAC lights, bouncing from my rear cab window, then straight into my mirror. Driving at night, I cannot see any vehicles behind me unless I use my side door mirrors. And not only can't I see traffic, but the bright glare is definitely distracting.

Went to the dealer yesterday, and several employees finally agreed that they could see the issue problem, but had no ready answers. The issue stems from the angle of the rear cabin glass. My protractor shows that the flat glass 90 degree angle points directly at the radio package, thus the glare reflections into the mirror.

Still waiting on remedy.

I notice this in several of our fire trucks and cops trucks. Eventually you just get used to it. One option may be to consider a antiglare reflective coating. 3M makes many of them for different applications. They have one product that is completely transparent but reduces glare by 94%. Maybe you want to try applying some of that?

It is the security film designed for cars.
