Hard wire radar detector

Got it all done except the power connection. Pulled the cover on the elect panel under dash and don't recognize much. Anyone wired a detector? Local dealer not much help...busy so might go back. If all else fails I can scab into another wire but would prefer to find a switched outlet not in use....help!

I don't have my truck yet but have hard wired my Valenine Ones in several vehicles. I used the Invisicord that plugs into the power connection on the back side of the rear view mirror. I'm assuming the '14s are similar to my other GM vehicles.

Last GM vehicle I did I plugged into the backside of the mirror as well. Once it warms up I will do the same on the new truck.

If I understand the situation correctly, you cannot get into the wiring harness good enough to get the needle pin to make contact. My technician tried with no success to get my invisicord into one of the harnesses in the overhead console panel. None of them would work with the switch. We ran the Valentine cord down the "A Post and into the accessory panel just above the left side of driver's foot rest. that was easy and works like a champ. You may have success with the invisicord but I sure didn't. The same invisicord worked fine on my wife's 10 Escalade, but not on my Denali. Good luck.

I wired my V1 into the rear view mirror. Took some time to figure out which wires to connect to but it was pretty easy. I used the blendmount mirror tap

You can use the fuse/relay box near the parking brake for power. It gives you RAP (retained accessory power) so the devices come on with driver's key & turn off when driver door opened after turning off ignition (similar to the radio)
