2014 Silverado/Sierra Bumper Swap

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just picked up a 2014 Silverado and I'm looking for an All Terrain/Denali/High Country rear bumper without the steps. I've read that a lot of people wish their trucks had the steps (those who have the stepless bumper) and would like to see if anyone would be willing to trade + cash. It's kind of a out there idea but maybe someone would be open to the idea. Let me know!

to bad yours isn't black. We could've worked something out.

Are you sure your Dealer wont work with you? If he has another silver one on the lot they might want to swap.

Even if mine was silver it would have a chrome bumper unless I had a High Country! And no, all my dealers High Country's had step bumpers, I haven't seen a stepless bumper in person. I have a feeling it's going to be a pain in the ass to find this bumper without losing a limb or two lol.

LOL. Yeah, you are probably right. As I read it, you cant even get the all terrain without step anymore. They are all sporting the DENALI painted step bumper now as I understand it.

I just did a little looking on autotrader and all of the Denali's have painted step bumpers that I could find... WTH

They discontinued the non-step bumpers when the Denali and high country came out... Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

I'm sure they'll still be available through the dealer though wouldn't they?

Ordering guide (today) still show it both ways for the all terrain.

GAT rpo is all terrain with body colour not step bumper

PDY adds chrome step bumper to the GAT.

What the ordering guide says and what actually goes out the door are two different things. We've already seen proof of ATs showing up with *painted* step bumpers. An option not listed in the guide. Either those were a mistake, a short term way to deal with a shortage of non-step bumpers or a running change. It'll be interesting to see where it goes. I personally am happy with my no step bumper, but i wouldn't have minded having the step either.

I do think the non step look cleaner but can't help but liking the convenience of a step bumper.

I don't use my truck as a truck so I have no need for that damn step lol!

Good point. I on the other would be using the step come next summer when I start hoisting 12' paddle boards on to a Thule bed rack. it was doable on my non lifted Tundra but this is going to be a little high even for me at 6'4"
