I do think the non step look cleaner but can't help but liking the convenience of a step bumper.

My AT came without the steps and I wanted them something fierce :-(

Maybe down the road we can swap them with somebody who wants a cleaner look.

I'm in Connecticut but the problem is yours in chrome. I have painted front and rears bumpers so I'd have to find a painted rear bumper with steps (which comes standard on my truck currently).

No biggy, I'm pretty sure I'll end up having to paint.. I just realized that the silvers are named something different from GMC to Chevy, is there any difference other than the names?

I don't use my truck as a truck so I have no need for that damn step lol!

The corner step is really nice when you want to get in the box while the tailgate is down. (if it's up it's easy to climb over using the lower portion of the bumper at the centre)

I kinda like the idea of body coloured bumpers, but I've been lusting after the Avalanche corner steps for several years.

I guess it's a gray haired thing.

We can do an even swap and i'll put cash on top to cover painting, should absolutely be no more than $250, that's giving you a little extra for your pocket! :tumbleweed:

I like the steps but I can see where the look isn't there....

Honestly if they made the bumper step to where it didn't stick out on the bottom so much it wouldn't be that bad but then it would be a tiny step. Oh well, hopefully I can find someone who would rather the steps, they are pretty practical but I only use them when washing my truck haha, its getting leveled in the rear so it'll be easy enough to just jump on the tailgate.

If your in Houston take it to Ekstensive Metal Works. They can weld the step pockets and rework the rear bumper then powder coat it. I was going to have mine done when i had the truck bagged but ran out of time for Sema.

If anyone has a non-step willing to trade for a chrome with steps I'm in.. I'm not really into the steps on the rear bumper any more. And honestly until this thread never new there was a different one ever available haha.

Is the non-step chrome bumper available from the dealer?

Thanks, Rich

They don't make a chrome non step bumper.. It can be purchased raw and chromed if you chose to do so.

SLE AT has the painted step bumper.

SLT AT does not have the the painted step bumper - i.e. it is painted without the step.

Denali has the painted step bumper.

How do I know? just went through it with my dealer. I order the SLT AT expecting the step bumper and when I saw that it was without it I said I didn't want it - ouch. I then had to order the Denali because it had them. I would have gone with the SLE AT but in that trim level you cannot get the sunroof.

So you ain't getting mine.
