My thought was that "supposedly" Ford sells a good bit of the Ecoboost so I would imagine GM would sell a decent amount of them too. Would I buy one... never, but I bet a good bit of others would. I would buy a diesel or big V8 first. Just gives them more options that's all.

You're probably right.

But what is the point to build a full size truck no one can use as such and try to make it sipping fuel like a FIAT 500?

 

People who really wanna safe fuel aren't buying such thing.

And neither do people who need a truck.

On the long run.

Isn't GM putting there eggs in old tech engines and relying on cylinder deactivation to save your ass.

All they got was just 1 mpg better than EB with the 2014 twins with your wt loss and new engines, that's it...!

So what is GM going to do if 2015 F150 with 2.7 EB gets 28 mpg or more...!

Mid size can't compete with the capability of the 2.7 EB so full size twins will need Deep Discounts that erode profits...!

the ONLY way Ford could Pull off those Numbers is by running EXTREMELY TALL Gears in BOTH the Transmission and the Differential, which would effectively render the truck COMPLETELY USELESS at Hauling and Towing, which is the thing Trucks are BOUGHT FOR! and last Time I checked the EcoTec3 Engines are DIRECT INJECTED.

Judging from some of the members around here and what I see on the road, most people buy trucks and use them as pavement princesses. Never hauling or towing. You can usually spot them with the unused trailer hitch being left in the receiver.
