My 14 Sierra is Jinxed

Well as some of you may or may not recall the dealership which I bought my truck from had a little incident with my truck while it was in their hands for service a few months ago, see below:

The dealership ended up ordering me the same truck, this time feturing SEY 22s and 6.2L, and I'm driving the repaired truck in the mean time.

Well the time came for my first oil change so I brought it into a different dealer (out of convenience beacuase its closer to where I live.) and they had a tire rack fall onto the OTHER box side!! I had more body work on this 14 in 7,000 miles then I ever had on my 2004 in 10 years and 125,000 miles. jeesh.

My new truck is in the broadcast stage with a TPW of Feb. 3rd.. Hopefully it gets here before someone gets hurt!

Good luck with the new truck. Maby you need to hang a rabbits foot from the mirror lol. In all seriousness things happen. Just have to go with the flow things will turn around for the better. Hope you have a great trouble free life with the new truck.

I'd be a little concerned about this particular color scheme. Anyone can match a factory OEM color, but in 5 years or 10 years down the road, will that paint look the same as the rest of the truck? hopefully you'll get a 10 year warranty on the repairs.

I feel for you. That is a shame.

I haven't used a body shop that didn't provide a lifetime warranty on repairs. I think that's pretty common now-a-days. Just hope that body shop is still around in 10 years.

the dealer that usually does my repairs has a lifetime warranty on the paint not sure if that is all GM dealers. however im also suspicious of exactly what they mean by lifetime warrant. like if i took it in there for the paint fading they would say it's cause i didnt take care of it or something.

My last 5 cars have been damaged at the dealer or service place. Guy pulled my dodge 1500 into the bay and took the whole side out on one of those yellow poles out side the door. They pulled my wifes' Murano into the bay and hit one of those big tuning machines it fell, took out the hood, headlight and creased the fender. They tell me my car is ready after the service and said the guy put a little scratch on the fender, tried to say that was the way it came in. Car wash guy at the honda dealer parked the car after service, backed it in to a spot. I drive it home, walked out to get the mail and see the rear bumper is all smashed and scraped. I called the dealer and told them about it,again they said it must have been that way. Asked if it was this way why is all the different color paint there if it just came out of the car wash. Told me to bring it back and they would check video. Got back and the owner is there,he looked at the damage and pointed out to the lot to another accord with the front bumper hanging off. said that is what the kid hit then he put my car 4 spots down to hide it.Got a whole new bumper at my body shop choice and the owner donated $500 to the animal rescue that I help out at. Had a miata in when it was done I went out to get in and all 4 tires were down on the rims, after the service he took it out to test it and put 17 screws in to the tires, drove it through some debris behind the dealer where they were doing some metal stud work, got 4 new tires for that. Had a subaru outback(new only 1000 miles) in for a warranty thing, they parked it next to a car they were doing a lot of grinding on and all the hot little grinding bits melted into my clear coat. Did not notice it till the next morning, it rained over night and all the little bits rusted, my white car was orange from all the rust and the whole car felt like it had a 5 o'clock shadow beard. They gave me a new car for that one. 5 cars 5 service places. Now I make every service writer do a walk around and note there is no damage to the car. Think I will just sit in the back seat when I take the Sierra in.

With your bad luck, you might want to consider doing some minor modifications to your next truck like the ones in the pic below:

What kind of morons do they employ at these dealerships? Nobody has done anything like that to me ever.

If I miss understand something, please correct me.

The question I have is , are you going to tell the original selling dealer about the new damage by the other dealership when you took it into for the oil change? The original selling dealership that did the first damage is already taking a depreciation loss on selling your vehicle eventually after your new one comes in based on the original damage they did, not the additional damage that was done by another dealership.

Ethically, it is not the original dealers fault to accept this additional damage by the 2nd dealership. It would be no different than if you had been in a wreck, had it repaired and did not disclose it at swap time.

So what am I incorrect on?

Everything! What a ridiculous conclusion to jump to that I am keeping it all a big secret from the dealer. I never said or implied that. It was a freak incident outside of my control, it’s not like I got drunk and side swiped a pole outside the bar.

Besides do you think the dealer will disclose the body work when they resell? Hell no.
