bluetooth not working all the time

I have had my 2014 sierra for a month now and i have noticed that my iphone 4 connects sometimes and others it doesn't.

the weird thing is that when i go to the "manage phone" screen it says connected. then when i switch back to the previous screen, it says "no phone

connected"

i drop the phone from the list and reconnect and it says the same thing again.

i have even tried unparing the phone and repairing.

no dice.

has anyone else experienced this? should i go to the dealer?

I get this sometimes on my Droid. But mine shows unconnected, I generally re boot the phone and it works. But your issue is different because it actually show connected... I dont know.

My two intermittent issues are this... and the voice prompt level not holding it's setting. It changes itself back to "long" after a few days.

I have a similar issue with my iPod's Bluetooth connectivity, although it doesn't happen all the time. It'll be playing fine, but if I manually change the song the Bluetooth connection is lost. The iPod continues to play, but not through the truck speakers. If I push the "Radio" button and then the "Media" button the iPod begins playing over the speakers again. I was told a "flash" might fix the issue......we shall see since I will be taking it to dealership this week. I've done a hard reboot on my iPod and it continues to happen.

no probs with my iphone 5. I even have it jailbroken. It connects pretty much flawlessy every time i start the truck.

Could be an issue with your phone, try a hard reset and see if helps.

I listen to iheartradio , my issue is , when iPhone is plugged in to USB I get no iheartradio , but if not plugged in , it Bluetooths just fine. I know you need to be smarter than a smart phone , but I I'm not, is this operator error or a short fall on the my link ?

My iPhone5 works great.

There was a calibration (software update) sometime back for Bluetooth issues. It solved a lot of issues with connecting and staying connecting. Try restarting the iPhone 4 and if it continues, ask your dealer about any calibrations available for your unit that are focuses on Bluetooth.

It appears that there is some kind of underlying problem with BT connectivity. My experience.... have a phone that connected and worked perfectly in my 2011 for the three years I owned it. Now, in my new 2014, the same phone goes through a cycle of connected-disconnect-connected-disconnect-connected-disconnect-crash phone. By crash phone, I mean that it actually turns the phone OFF without human intervention. It pairs up just fine, but immediately enters this crash and burn scenario 100% of the time. Makes no difference which device initiates the pairing. I have another (older, ironically) phone that works perfectly. Both of the phones are Nokias.

Lawnmower2020 - I'm having a similar issue as you. My truck just started doing it - connected-disconnect-connected-disconnect its constant. It has not turn my phone off though. I have a Chevy LT and Iphone 4s. Have had the truck for a year and same phone the entire time. No issues until recently. It's annoying. Truck is at the dealership for the transfer case and 'speedo' updates. Tech wants to complete those first, see if maybe it magically corrects the Bluetooth issue.

I have a 2014 sierra and an LG G3 and this just started happening to me the last couple weeks where it would drop out of bluetooth during a call but pandora or music streaming would be just fine. Calls tended to drop anywhere from 50 seconds to 2 minutes in typically. I just had the radio update done and that didn't seem to fix the issue either at this time. I've tried unpairing and pairing the phone again to see if that would help but no such luck so far.

Please keep me posted on any possible fixes you guys come across.

Thanks!

Mine is working perfectly again after an OTA update from LG, so I'm thinking it was an LG G3 issue all along. Whatever the case I'm glad it works perfectly again!

    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed, regardless of whether they are in warranty or not, or in the hands of the original owner or not. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
