Turn Signal

The turn signal lever, if activated in the momentary mode, automatically flashes 3 times, or 6 times if in tow haul mode. Is there any way to override and get the flasher to flash 6 times all the time? (2014 Silverado)

Nope. All that is computer-controlled. Why do you want to? Just about every vehicle made these days has the auto signal and they all do it 3x.

3 flashes is complete before your lane change is complete. Six is better.

If three isn't enough then push the lever up all the way like any other vehicle? Or just let it flash three times and not worry that it doesn't stay on the entire time. I get all sorts of different cars as rentals for work and most do exactly the same and if I haven't gotten stopped for improper signaling in places like Ohio or New York you'll be fine wherever you live.

I agree with OP. The 3 flashes is too short. I will start with a shoulder check, then use 'lane changesignal', look again, (3 fashes is done now) and then move over.

There needs to be an option to adjust the run time of lane change signal. I don't want to use 'set' signal, or use tow/haul, or use the lever multiple times, I simply want this to be user adjustable. 3 flashes is about 3 seconds. How long before a lane change should you be signalling? 3 seconds is not long enough at highway speeds.

I am one of those people that signal for everything. It is a habit for me. I have caught myself using the signals on a sharp turn in the road. It is that much of a habit. I also ride motorcycle, and signal for everything as well. Near the end of riding season I find myself looking for turn signal lever when riding my bicycle.

Just because we want to be able to set number of flashes does not mean we are being petty about it. Sure I can just use the full signal, and not use lane change signals at all. But, I prefer to not have to remember to turn signal off after lane change. It sometimes completely slips the mind of the driver, and it stays on until the next lane change or you have to use the signal again. We have all seen signal left on drivers. Usually caused by a lane change or a turn not sharp enough to rotate sterering wheel past the cancel signal dog in the column.

I just find it amusing that for something that didn't even exist a decade ago people have the need to nitpick it. How did we ever survive without auto flashing turn signals before?
