Pics of white truck with BFG

I would like to see pics of a truck with 285 BFG tires on it. I am in need of another set of tires and would like to see how these look. All pics would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone on this board live near Buford, Georgia. I am interested in some trail rides and clubs.

Check out the link in my sig for some pictures of my truck with BFG 285s.  There are several trucks on this site with 285s.  Check out other topics and look at peoples sigs.

My next door neighbor has a 2001 white x-cab Z71 with 285s and black fender flares.

If you want a pic of that, just lemme know. It may take a day or two, but I can get one.

I was wondering....did the 285's throw off the speedo much? Can it be reprogramed at the dealer? Any shifting issues? I pull a 8000# camper and I don't want to screw anything up. Also, any rubbing? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've got a 3/4 ton Yukon XL w/ the 8.1 and 4X4.

Can it be reprogramed at the dealer?

I feel stupid, but can someone explain why going to a wider tire(265,285) would throw off the speedo? Do the tires become taller also as you go wider? So if I got 265 70r16's would the speedo be off still?

Thanks for any replys.

You're right.  Width of course has nothing to do with it.  We're all guilty of abbreviating...

"285's" = 285/75R16

"265's" = 265/75R16

"245's" = 245/75R16

Second number is percentage of the first number which will give you height in millimeters.  75% of 285, 265, or 245.
