This may be a dumb question but is there any visual difference between the new 5.3L and the 6.2L. Just picked up my new 6.2L and there are no specific visual markings.

Engine EPA decal is easiest way but the biggest external difference I believe is the size of the throttle body on the front of the intake the thing is HUGE on the 6.2 here is the GM photos of the two and I do not see any disceranble markings https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/photos.detail.html/content/Pages/galleries/us/en/vehicles/chevrolet/2014/14silverado.html#

8th digit of VIN is the engine code.

 

5.3L vin is C (rpo L83)

6.2L vin is J (rpo L86)

 

(RPO codes are on glovebox label)
