Holy crap, thats 12.35 in the 1/4 by NHRA calculations, but trucks typically don't accelerate as much between the 1/8 and 1/4. Still should put you solidly into the 12's though.

Thats about right..... Close to my 1/8th mile in my colorado.

Ok guys reviving the thread.... Bonus looks like its going to be very good and income tax is only a $500 that i have to pay...

Whipple or magnacharger??

I was set on the whipple but after seeing that the maggie was making 15hp less on 2psi less then the whipple idk anymore.

Are pully swaps on maggies easy? I know the whipple is.

Just dropped the truck off again....New numbers coming soon, custom sheet metal cold air, new cam, Tq converter, new SC pulley and tune...it will be in excess 600 to the ground

no fuel system problems at all as long as your not running a stock cam...these DI 6.2's u must increase the fuel lobe on the cam...

Rephrase.....U can get to the point of needing injectors but so far it has not been necessary. My truck has been fat so far

This is the cam going in this week...Should be great to play with

Looks like a mild cam.... That should open her up oj the big end quite a bit!!

yes sir it is mild, you don't need much with the Whipple....My first cam was basically stock smooth idle with the fuel lobe changed

I didn't know you had changed cams before this one. Was the Whipple pushing the limit of the stock fuel lobe outa the box?

It will not push the limit out of the box with the Whipple tune and stock cam. I did not go the out of the box route the first time as I was about 230 additional crank hp with my set up. I am hoping this next mod will be at or over 800hp at the crank....then we will see just how tough this 8 speed is.......

I talked to a whipple engender a while back and he said that in the 5.3s atleast, that they were pushing the stock fuel lobe on the trucks. He had a little wiggle room but the trucks were hitting a wall and that a cam would open them up.

When is it due for surgery?
