If anyone needs a different angle let me know. The front bumper sensors are going crazy so I will have to get with Ranch Hand Monday and I'll post the fix other than that I think they turned out great.

Just curious if you have noticed a drop in mileage because of the extra weight. If so how bad is it? I'm thinking of doing something like this to my sierra eventually.

I'm definitely interested to hear what happened with the sensors

I've been thinking about going with other brands but they dont offer it with the sensors. I'll probably be drilling to add them

The sensors started messing up again so below will be the post of how to fix, this will only pertain to the complete bumper replacement. I spoke with Ranch Hand (Very Nice Helpful People) but they have not had allot of these installed yet and are aware of how sensitive the sensors are for the front especially but have no true procedure on fixing. As designed they offer an aftermarket bezel which goes into the hole in the bumper for the sensors to lock into. The problem is that they are using I believe a 12guage diamond plate which is to thick for the bezels to lock into the bumper which than causes the back of it to flare out and will not allow the sensors to lock in properly. Once they are in there than the rubber which goes on the OD of the sensor face will become deformed because of clearance issues between the sensor and bezel.

Here is the Fix:

1. Grind around the hole of the bumper just enough to take some paint off and hit the 3 high spots around the hole caused by the diamond plate. (You do not have to spend allot of time on this just try and get a better fit)

2. Place the bezel into the hole ( Remember there are guide lines on the bezel make sure those are faced down, this allows the bezel to sit in the way it is intended too. They are not completely flat they are made to mold to the bumper)

3. Remove the rubber pieces that go around the OD of the sensor and place sensor into bezel. The rubber pieces are a large part of the problem.(The front bumper all wiring coming out of sensor should face towards the middle of the truck; Rear each side should face each other).

4. Take a zip-tie and secure each sensor into the bezel from the back, this will give a clamping force so that the sensor cannot come back out or shift around.

5. Use the back of the sensor on the plug itself and lightly adjust the face of the sensor in the desired way so that you can achieve a slight downward direction. Make sure the sensor is not facing into the bezel at an angle where you believe that it is going to read it and set them off.

That should be it, when I first got my truck back the sensors freaked out and than stopped than started again. Once I did this procedure they are working fine. These things are very sensitive so making an alteration(adding big ass bumpers)in this fashion can compromise them. I shared this with Ranch Hand so hopefully this can help them in the future also gave them some information on how they can design for a more consistent product, I believe that all new trucks and SUV's will be coming with the front sensors so they need to figure this out.

I have seen him live twice, didn't know they sponsored him.

Did either of you guys measure ground clearance stock bumper vs the replacement? I know on my 2006 the new bumper gained me some clearance. I'm also curious as to whether the bumper pulled the front end down at all?
