Scratches on Truck

Recommended Posts

So my dog decided to go ape $##t yesterday and scratched my truck on the drivers side some and on the passenger side.  I think something got in our garage and then in the pickup bed and the dog decided he needed to chase it or something not sure...

So from experience or otherwise does anyone know of a way I can get theses scratches out?(Whitout buffing the truck)

Will a few coats of Zaino do the trick?  Just use the ZFX accelerator and a couple coats of Z-5 followed by a coat of Z-2 and the scratches will go away?

That sucks.  There are several options depending on the depth.  A claybar would remove imperfections in the area.  You could also use a scratch remover like Meguiar's Scratch X...I haven't tried my Zaino yet, so I can't give you any info there.

Bummer!  The best fix I can think of is some .45 hollow-points.  Oh, you meant a fix for the truck.  Light rubbing compound followed by a good polish might do the trick.  I haven't tried clay bars yet, but have heard they also work well.

I had this happen when my truck was about a wk old

I had the dogg (golden retriever) in the bed of my truck when i was outside.  Well my mom came home and he got excited decided his paws needed to go over the pass side bed.  Nice lone 3 ft scratch above the fender flare.  I used some of the Zaino clearcoat swirl and scratch remover (either Z5 or Z2 cant remember and dont wanna go look).  Took them right out.

Also this past summer while in NC my uncles dogg decided to jump on both the drivers side and pass side of my truck after we got back from white water rafting.  Zaino helped to ide it but these were slightly deeper.  Hopefuly this spring i can get em out for good

Otherwise if zaino doesnt work get some of the 3m stuff and a buffer.  For sure itll come out

I thought about that suggestion, but I have to try to keep up the Officer Friendly title.

We'll thanks for the suggestions, However if I used the .45 option It would be like shooting my hunting partner and best friend so... That's out the window.  But at that particular moment when I got home and saw it I was about ready to get the glock..

Then I got my sences and said it's just a truck, I'll get it out......  So It looks like I will be droping 70 bucks on some zaino.........

  :nono:  :wtf:

The best advice I can offer is to go to the Autopia website and ask them.  I have been a long time reader there and these guys will absolutely know how to repair the damage.  Most "normal" people would think the people on Autopia are EXTREMELY OBSESSED with clean cars.  However, they know their stuff.    Autopia Car Care
