How bright are the floor lights at night as far as distraction when driving? Truck is looking good though.

I love the floor lights. I had this kit in my old Yukon. Some ppl say that they would be a distraction but my whole focus is on the road. I honestly don't find them to be much of a distraction. Especially against the black floor and paneling. It pretty much absorbs the light and doesn't reflect but a fraction of it. Plus I had this kit for 1.5 years before selling my old Yukon so I am very much used to having the extra light.

Which kit is it?

The packaging it comes in says that it is an Oracle kit but I don't see this kit on oracles sight and I would think that an Oracle kit would be more expensive

Either way it's a great kit and I wouldn't go with anything else only downside with putting it in this truck is that there is no real place to putbut somewhere that it's hidden in the driver position. All other spots I could hide it pretty well.

Thanks. Where all did you put lights?

For driver I put it on the plastic part under steering wheel, passenger can be hidden in the small opening between the lower dash console thing and the big black plastic piece (will get pictures to help show where I am talking about)

Rear lights are sitting under the driver and passenger seat stuck to a big metal plate that holds a motor under there. Again, will get a pic for ya for that.

And I have a 5th stuck to the top of the opening in the center console. I drilled a small hole (just bit enough to pass the wires through) right next to the LED strip so that the wires can be hidden.

It all came out really good and the 3rd strip in the back (the last one I mentioned) helps add a lot of light since it's in the center of the rear seat area.

I was really kind of surprised with how few mounting options I had in this truck. I am mainly surprised cause I had plenty of places to mount the lights in my old Yukon.

Here's some pics!

Passenger (this is like it's zooming in on the light almost. It is sitting between the lower dash console and that black plastic cover that sits under the dash. There is a small gap just barely wider than the LED strip. Fits perfectly right there)

Rear (both are set up the same, just mirror of each other.)

Thanks. Looks clean. My list keeps growing....

No problem. And this is a great little mod. It adds a lot of appeal in my opinion. Im glad I finally got the kit again. It was honestly really weird not having it after having it so long haha.

What decisions did you ever make on the rims? Good looking truck

I am definitly going to go with the Eagle Alloy Series 014. 20x9 with 0 offset. Gonna wrap them with Toyo M/T or R/T in a 295/60/20 or 295/65/20

Thanks man!

This past weekend, along with adding the VLED LPF, I was going to get windshield tinted to 45% but ended up having a crack in the windshield so I decided that since I was at the shop I would have a second layer of 35% tint put on my 2 front windows. So now my all my windows are matched (or at least are so close that they look matched). Wish I could figure out why tapatalk will not let me post pictures from my device. I may have to just get a photobucket and start posting links if I cant get my picture posting back :dunno: . Getting windshield repaired this week (I had 2 chips and that is why they did not want to tint the windshield. They did not want to make one of the chips that was starting to run, run even worse. So hopefully this weekend all will go off without a hitch! Also getting my subs installed! Dropping truck off at 1 this Friday. Will try to get pic issue resolved by then so I can post pics of everything!! :fingersx:

    • If there are updates/fixes you want, you could pay to have the updates applied by the dealer.
    • Hi all - my current truck is a 2022.5 1500 High Country 3.0. I bought the truck used last year. After doing some digging, I noticed that my truck's software is stuck on the original build from 2022. I have no available software updates. I talked to my dealer about this and they recommended not trying to force an update since the 36,000 mile warranty is expired. This is a big bummer since there have been many major releases since that have fixed small issues and improved speed/usability.   For reference, the current software build number is: full_gminfo37_gb-user 10 W158E-W164.4.2-QIH22B-563.3 158 release-keys Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I just forget about it and move on, or try a different dealer?
    • Sure. Buy it for me 🤣
    • Using zip ties but 2-3 they snap due to sharp edges. Just using a shoestring. Last longer. 🤣
    • I ordered the Snap On...waiting for it to come in later this week or early next week.   New front cover, new crank seal and new balancer are on. Water pump, pulley, fan, hoses, and plastics reinstalled. I can move forward knowing all my timing marks are dead on and the front engine is hopefully sealed better than it was. Take 2 with the water pump...trying high temp thread sealer on the lower bolts.   Rebuilt injector and new-new regulator is in, it looks like new. Top intake reassembled and all the bits are reconnected and snugged down.   Thinking about knock sensors again, I located both of mine and, there's your problem, Francis... The driver's side one is broke, plastic is bashed in, part of the wire is bare, and it appears to have been damaged like that for a long time. I saw the wire but didn't think anything of it. The knock sensor might not be my pulled timing issue, but it sure looks suspect. It must still be conducting, otherwise I'd expect a CEL. But perhaps with its sacred crystal inside exposed, jilted and dirty, maybe it's sending mixed signals. So I'm waiting for one of those and a new pigtail to come in. Pass side sensor looks good, except for the spark plug wire resting on it (!). The plug wires are healthy so it shouldn't be causing an issue, but I separated them and added zip ties to nearby looms to keep everything well apart.   So, I'm down to installing a knock sensor AND, oh, replacing the exhaust and cat. I actually think that's going to be fairly easy, it's all bolt-together, all new stuff from Walker is laid out on the shop floor ready to go. Hopefully have this thing on the road again for the weekend.   My luck? It will still be leaking oil, coolant, pulled timing, intermittent CEL for running rich, or it probably won't run at all -- because that's how this project has gone.   I've never worked on a vehicle so ...hurt? ...cursed? in my life. Everything has been effed with SO HARD, but I think...knock on wood...I've managed to undo all the backyard stuff and we're almost reset back to "just" an 80k mile, 30 year old Blazer.
