Glad you mentioned loyalty cash. My wife and I own a Tahoe, how would you get loyalty cash incentives?

If they offer it, it can be as simple as showing them your registration or title.

Usually ~20% under msrp is a good deal, and you're right in that range at 30k.

Tax are not considered in the sale price. Some states allow financing the tax, some do not.

New member, but I got right at 20% off. Sticker was 50,438 and I paid 40,748 OTD which included the dealer document fees. Taxes not included of course.

Some basic care dealing facts and advice. 1. Never take the first offer. 2. Do not get into this what you want to pay per month garbage that many dealers do and many people unwisely get into. Find out the price of the vehicle. Then discuss financing, whether it be money down, full finance, dealer finance etc. Typically what I do is I shop around and get the best interest rate that Im approved for. Once were almost there in negoiations say like 90% , I will then say I can get 1.99 or whatever it is through my bank, can you match that, and if you can, can you do any better on the price. 3. Your trade in can be a another chip, but nothing something Id throw in the mix right away. If you have a junker, just be glad they will take it and give you a few bucks for it. In the end a trade can help you.

Lastly be a realistic buyer. Ive seen to many people walk in with 35k budget but expect a 50k truck can be priced within their needs. Right now expect about 7-8k off of MSRP. So if your looking at spending 30k I wouldnt be looking at trucks over 39-40k in MSRP. Also taxes thats not a dealers problem or anything that either of you can effect or change, factor that in outside of the vehicle.

Great post nards. Cheers. I feel better my numbers in my OP for my budget are pretty spot on. The deal they offered seems somewhat reasonable. I'm going to look around and see what else there is.

Update: Got my old car into the shop today. They said they can fix it for about $750.

So trying to decide what I want to do. My issue is the Saturn is only worth about $1500. So I'm not crazy about putting $750 into it. But at the same time it's paid off and it would allow me to drive it another year or so and wait for the right deal.

My shop also offered to buy it off me for $500.

My plan was to watch the model year end clearance deals and probably wait until the 2015s came out to see what GMs incentives would be like when the new F150s come out.

Kind of a tough call, I really want a new truck now but feel like I'd be in a better spot if I wait another year.

Put $750 into the saturn. Starting now put the $400 car payment you would have put to the truck in savings.

In November go and order the perfect 2015 truck. Febuary is the best month for incentives so don't take deliver till Feb. You will have $4000 saved up, get a great truck at a great price (about $10k under MSRP).

Oh and open a GM card and buy something small on it. In Feb you will get the GM Card kicker also.

I like the sounds of this. Out of curiousity why is February the best month for incentives?

it depends, Seems like best time to buy fords is in AUG-OCT as thats when their new stuff comes out. FEB is probably right before the new Chevys come out. Once the new stuff comes out is the best time to buy whats left on the lot.

Well I gave the shop the go ahead to fix my old Saturn. :tear:

I really want a new truck now but in a year I can afford more and get what I want rather than settle for a stock Texas Edition now. Hope I made the right choice.

Do they call Texas Editions something else in other states?

It's basically just 20" wheels with color matched door handles and mirrors with a huge Texas Edition badge.

We have the package I originally got on mine and its called the Custom Sport edition, Which is all listed above.no big obnoxious badge either, Also comes with a package discount.

What color of truck are you wanting?
