Just dark and dirty oil

 

I also put in a magnetic drain plug in all my vehicles

For peace of mind I did my first oil change at 5000 miles instead of the 7500+ that it would have been according to the OLM. I was at around 35%. I wouldn't change it until you got back, but that's me. If GM wanted you to change your oil early, they'd tell you to.

Thanks for the quick reply's! Going to head up to South Dakota to celebrate grandson's 2nd birthday! I have been all over the US being a military brat and doing a lot of traveling myself since then. However this is one part of the country I have not been too, so going to see the touristy stuff around Rapid City. Going to be a good trip for the wife and I in our new truck!

Welcome to SD? Make sure you drive through the Needles Highway, Spearfish Canyon and Iron Mountain Road they are a MUST SEE and of coarse Mt Rushmore.
