does the denali grille separate?

Does anyone know if the denali grille can come apart?
i'm trying to get rid of as much chrome as I can. I was thinking that the plasti-chrome surround of the grille may come off and be able to be replaced with a painted one.
I just don't know if that is possible. I see on the gmc accessories page there are options for color matched grilles with painted surround or chrome so I assume at least the standard grill can be separated. Just don't know if the denali grille can be.
I don't think I'd mind the center section if I can get rid of the chrome. If I cant then I will just order the replacement grill color matched.

Also, anyone know the difference between the gmc accessory color grille and the All Terrain grille? It seems the A/T grill is color matched but has a different part # than the GMC accessory grille. Is there something about the center of the 2 grilles that is different that I don't notice form the photo?
Thanks

These grilles are interchangeable and have an inner grille and surround, but am not sure about the Denali. I have read somewhere, can't remember where, that the Denali might not fit in these surrounds??? Pretty sure that the Color Matched grille is like the standard grille but the chrome is painted on the inner grille and the surround??? I could pop out the inner grille out of both of these, and switch surrounds.

Here was my grille swap, Standard to All Terrain, with a little personalization. Cannot let the Chevy guys have all the fun. :gmc:

The one on the truck in the pic is the A/T and the one on the ground in front of it is the standard?
or is it the other way around? I personally like the one that's on the truck in the photo more than the one on the ground. If that is the A/T grille I'll start looking for one of those in color non chrome and see what I come up with.

The All Terrain grille IS on the truck. The stock "normal" grille is leaning on the truck

Just so you know the Denali grill is sold by GM for 1k all the other grills 550. You could get an even swap at the local gmc dealer my dealer wanted to labor and all free my Denali grill for an all black painted grill.

Anyone have a vin or specific part number for an All Terrain quicksilver metallic?
The parts guy said he cannot order the A/T grille in silver without the vin code or a specific part number. Figured I'd check and see if anyone had either..

Here is one on E-Bay. Check the paint code because the description is different than the listing

So, are you saying that you could put the All-Terrain insert in the Chrome surround? Because that's what I've been trying to get done but so far, everyone who's had their grills off say that they're not able to be separated.

You can separate them, you just have to be careful. There are 4 screws, and SEVERAL interlocking tabs that you have to unlock. Something like the round shaft on a Phillips screwdriver slid in there to unlock the clips would be helpful.

I was originally going to use my chrome surround with the AT inner, but when I set the painted one in the opening, I changed my mind. I still have the complete original, and can mix and match later if I want another look. I can have 4 distinctly different looks with these components. The 2 you see above in my other post, or swap inners, and I have 2 other looks.

Here is what the chrome surround looks like with the AT inner. This one was for sale on ebay last month. The guy has an AT, ordered a new Color Coded Grille with Chrome Surround, popped out his inner and replaced it with the new CC grille. Then he popped his inner in the brand new chrome surround. His AT had 900 miles on it when he switched.

This is exactly what I've been trying to find a photo to do. I had some road debris destroy my grill last month but my chrome surround is still perfect. So I'm trying to get my repair shop to order me an all-terrain grill for my chrome surround.
