4hp Garden Tiller Replacement Motor

So, I borrowed a tiller from a friend. He gave it to me without oil, I assumed it had oil, etc... lesson learned. Regardless, now the motor is blown. It is a very old Snapper front tine tiller with what I believe is a 5 hp motor. A local small engine shop has a slightly used Honda 4 hp motor ($100) off a pressure washer. Or, I can get a new 6.5 hp off brand motor ($120) from the store.

I like Honda for their reputation, but not sure it'll be big enough. Will the 4 hp Honda engine be enough for the tiller, or should I go for the 6.5 hp?

If the original engine was a 5 hp then I would go ahead and get the 6.5hp for a replacement. The 4 hp will probably be "ok" but won't have the umph that the tiller was meant to have. Just make sure that whichever engine you get has the proper crank that allows the accessory pully or whatever attachment to be remounted.
