This setup hugely affects the mids and highs. its a 200W rms 4 channel amplifier and a 200w rms mono amplifier with a digital sound processor. Its tremendous. I used to listen to my non-bose at about 3/4 volume and now 1/2 is LOUD and clean and punchy. when you switch to the hiphop station you really hear the sub do work. its perfect for every genre of music that i've found. I also have my tone settings all set to the middle (FLAT) for the most part. I used to have highs all the way up and lows all the way up on the non-bose basic. But the way the DSP was designed flat settings are ideal as far as not boosting any signal but I like a little more highs than most so i tap it up one or two to the right.

Its now an available upgrade as of yesterday on chevy.com when you build and price. if you don't select bose you can select the 200/400 Kicker upgrade. if you do the 200 upgrade you're only getting the sub. Both options are available as manufacturer added options! :-) Our dealership will be ordering alot less bose and alot more kicker i promise. especially for 659 if done when the vehicle is built.

Good question? First I've seen this as an option.

You can only upgrade the standard system you cannot upgrade the bose system. It is the first you've seen it as an option because it just started as a manufacturer installed option yesterday! :-)

Well, GM updated their website. Its 1059 for the sub/amp combo and around 700 for the sub only. Now its showing as an LPO (dealer installed accessory) and it does not include installation.

Anyone know if this works in the 2015 2500HDs as well? I see on the accessory web page that they list the sub only kit for them and it is the same part number as for the 1500s, but not the sub and door speaker amp kit.

Order and received mine last night. Opened it to find they sent me the sub and not the sub/amp combo. Had to mail it back and hopefully will get the right one over-nighted tomorrow. I'll let y'all know how it sounds.

Took me about 1.5 hours to install. Sounds much better that factory system. In my personal opinion, It could use a little more punch but it is what it is. Happy overall.

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
